Mythos Kreuzberg – The Tour through the Neighbourhoods
A particularly exciting part of Berlin: Kreuzberg in 3 hours
Experience the „real“ Berlin: from the ruins of Anhalter Bahnhof, to the legendary Mehringdamm, and deep into the wild heart of SO36. A journey through history, squatting times, and culinary highlights.
Kreuzberg isn't a district, Kreuzberg is a feeling. On this tour, we'll explore the four most diverse neighbourhoods of the borough. We'll start at the Brandenburg Gate and quickly leave the glitzy tourism behind to immerse ourselves where Berlin is most lively, multicultural, and exciting.

List of highlights
Anhalter Bahnhof & Mehringdamm: History meets cult currywurst.
Bergmann Kiez: Magnificent courtyards and the flair of the Gründerzeit.
Graefe-Kiez: Relaxed living by the Landwehr Canal and Admiral Bridge.
SO36 (Oranien neighbourhood): The centre of the squatters' scene and street art.
Wrangelkiez & East Side Gallery: Market hall culture and the longest wall in the world.

Route Highlights at a Glance
1. Heading West: From Anhalter Bahnhof to Mehringdamm
We leave the centre at the Brandenburg Gate and head for Anhalter Bahnhof – a place steeped in history. Next, we move on to Mehringdamm, where we'll first feel the real pulse of Berlin at the legendary „Curry 36“. Here, the city's history mingles with the aroma of the best currywurst in town.
2. Architecture & Lifestyle: Riehmers Hofgarten and Bergmann Quarter
Now it gets elegant: We discover the hidden Riehmer's Hofgarten, a masterpiece of Berlin's backyard architecture. Afterwards, we'll roll through the Bergmann Kiez with Chamisso Platz. Cobblestone streets, small cafés, and the Marheineke Markthalle show us the Kreuzberg where people simply love to live today.
3. Waterways & Market Life: Graefe-Kiez and Landwehr Canal
From Südstern, we head into the Graefe-Kiez. Relaxation is the order of the day here. We'll travel along the Landwehr Canal, past the vibrant hustle and bustle of the „Turkish Market,“ and make a stop at Admiralbrücke – the meeting point for everyone who loves Berlin life by the water.
4. The Wild Heart: Oranien-Kiez & Squatter History
At Kottbusser Tor, we'll dive deep into the legendary SO36. On Oranienstraße and in Mariannenplatz, I'll tell you about the wild days of squatters in the eighties. Passing by the Bethanien Artists' House, we'll discover why Kreuzberg remains the centre for alternative culture and political spirit to this day.
5. Finale on the Spree: Wrangelkiez, Oberbaum Bridge & East Side Gallery
To finish, we'll explore the lively Wrangelkiez and Markthalle Neun. We'll cross the Oberbaum Bridge over the Flutgraben, passing old border guard towers. After the longest remaining piece of the Wall – the East Side Gallery – we'll go via Alexanderplatz and Unter den Linden back to the Brandenburg Gate. Pure Berlin!
